My son is addicted to the TV show
Super Why on
PBS. It's such a cute, interactive show if you haven't seen it yet. This is actually how he first started to recognize different letters. I started to print sets of 4-6 letters at a time for him to color. We did a different set about every 3 weeks. While he colored each letter, I told him what it was and he tried to repeat it. Then I would ask him "Which one is letter O?" and he would point to the right one (most of the time! He would get confused sometimes). I then hung them up on the wall with
mounting putty or on the refrigerator with the same letter alphabet magnets. I had him color the letters with a different medium every week (i.e. markers,
Nu Pastels,
Roll It markers,
Glitter Glue, painting, etc.).
We practiced the letters 2 different ways. I pointed to a letter and he told me what it was. Then, he pointed to a letter and I told him what it was. We also did different
alphabet activities everyday.

After I hung up the 1st set, I caught him sitting on the couch staring at the letters and saying them out loud several times over the next few days. He went up to them many times on his own as well- I am so happy that he loves learning!
