One of the great things about belonging to a playgroup that has children older than my son is that my son gets to try out toys and I get to see how much he likes them before I buy it for him! My little man LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the doodle pros! Every house we go to, he always plays with these. I wanted to get him one but did not want to spend a lot of money on it (and hubby said no). About a month ago, I was browsing through Target's Toy section since it was the time of the year where they have HUGE clearance sales. This Toulouse Lap-Trec, similar to a doodle pro, jumped out at me! Why? Well, it's not the typical colors you would normally see in a toy section. From my understanding, it is a new line of toys (http://www.justb-byou.com .... B. toys) and their website isn't up and running as of yet. To my surprise, this was only $15! It seems like this line of toys is cheaper than the norm. My son had received Christmas money so I went against my hubby's NO (he, he) and bought it. I chose the brown one, but the red one is also fun colors.
I am so glad I got it for him because he plays with it non-stop (my hubby too... lol). It comes with the attached pen and 4 animal shapes. The bottom is a bean-bag making it perfect for our long car trips to visit family.
He practices the Alphabet....
He loves to have us write something and tell us what it is. We do letters, numbers, and shapes....
I write simple words for him to practice word recognition....
He loves having his hands and feet traced and doing mine as well..... this happens what seems to be like a 100 times a day ~ :D

Wow! You got a great deal! I love how the bottom is a bean bag for long car trips. I am sure that he will have a lot of fun and learning with it.
What a great deal! This really does sound like a great toy and I think M would get a lot of use out of it. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a deal!
