Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
is still my son's favorite book. It is so cute to listen to him try to read the book by himself (he's 2 1/2). For a craft, I made him a coconut tree and had him place alphabet stickers under it.

I also did this magnet activity with him. On his dry erase magnet board, I drew a coconut tree. As I read the book to him, he put his alphabet magnets on and then took them off the way it is told in the story :)

Good thinking to use the magnets to retell the story!
I love his coconut tree!
And the idea of using the magnets with the story is awesome!
Retelling the story with magnets is so cool.

Thanks for joining WMCIR! We loved this book when Anna was younger and I really liked both of your extension ideas.
What a fun way to bring the story to life.
Fun! We did our own version of this...but we made a footprint tree. You can see it at http://livelearnlove226.blogspot.com/2010/01/chicka-chicka-boom-boom.html
