Candy Cane Crafts & Ornaments

Here are some of the Candy Cane Crafts and Ornaments we have been making:

Tissue Paper Candy Cane
To make this, either print or draw a candy cane shape on paper. Use a paintbrush to paint Mod Podge or white school glue mixed with water inside the candy cane shape. I had red & white striped tissue paper that I cut into squares, which my toddler then pressed onto the glued area. After we had the whole shape covered, he painted glue back over the top of the tissue paper. You will have to let it dry for a long time and then you can cut around the candy cane outline. It makes a cute decoration and you could even punch a hole at the top and add red ribbon to hang it up.

Decoupage Tissue Paper Ornament {Candy Cane-inspired}
My toddler painted a clear ornament with Mod Podge. Then, he placed precut up squares of red & white tissue paper over it (you want to overlap the pieces). After the entire ornament was covered, he painted back over the top of the tissue paper (and then I went back over the spots he missed). Let it dry and then repeat with another coat of the Mod Podge. I hung it on the tree to let it dry.

Beaded Candy Cane Ornament
We made this last year and it was just as big of a hit with my little guy this year. All you need is a pipe cleaner and beads. You could even attach a (looped) ribbon to use to hang it from.

My toddler also colored this Candy Cane Coloring Page and even made his own stripes.
