Ocean in a Bag {Sensory Activity}

We made this Ocean in a Bag Sensory Craft Last summer. My son squeezed blue hair gel that my hubby didn't like into a Zip-loc baggie. He added water animal foam stickers, beads, and glitter. I sealed it and then put it inside another Zip-loc bag. We made a similar activity in a class when he was 1 year old and the bag broke and oozed gel everywhere so I definitely recommend putting it in another bag over it. My little guy had fun squeezing and poking his little ocean!

I've made sensory bags with paint but I like this one is so pretty and definitely ocean-like. Great idea using the hair gel. I've used duck tape around the edges before to give it some durability. It might help with this one as well. Thanks for sharing on It's Playtime!

This is simply adorable! How lovely to look at all the glitter, the different items and feel the water squishing around!

Keep in mind you can get a big tub of hair gel at the Dollar Store really cheap!

Thanks for the duct tape tip and for the dollar store hair gel idea ladies! :)

Try using freezer bags. They are sturdier and a heavier weight plastic. :)

I did this at school last year(Each bag was similar colored items) I used vaccuum seal bags. they were pretty durable, but i recommend nothing in them with hard edges!
