Leaf Suncatchers
- Color coffee filters with markers.
- Place on baking sheet or some other kind of surface that you don't mind marker water to get all over.
- Let dry.
- Cut into leaf shapes. I used leaf templates which I cut out and then traced onto the coffee filters.
Here are the finished suncatchers before hanging them in the window. They turn out very colorful and pretty. I couldn't get a good photo of them hanging in the window.
Sponge Painted Leaves
I kept the outer part of the leaves I cut for the above suncatcher craft because it made a nice stencil. My son picked 2 of them which I taped to a pice of paper. I gave him a sponge and a plate with small blobs of paint on it in fall colors. Make sure you have the child blot off the excess paint onto another sheet of paper before dabbing them inside the leaves.
I link up to these weekly link parties!

These are beautiful! My son used to LOVE spraying water onto coffee filters (colored with dot markers or the regular kind). I had kind of forgotten about this - thank you for the reminder! :)
Pretty!
those leaves are gorgeous! I wanted to make some & never got around to it. :(
Thanks for linking your idea to the Sunday Showcase last week. Hope to see you this week!

That is such a cute idea! I have two children, a boy and a girl, and they are both very crafty. I recently spotted 2 nicely made and very inexpensive easels for kids
and they haven't stopped painting and drawing yet! Needless to say, I think they would really enjoy this as well! Thanks for the idea!
the suncatchers are so pretty! thanks for popping by my blog the other day. i'm following you now.
