Not only is this Beach Ball Cake fun for kids to eat at a pool party or any kind of summer themed party, it is inexpensive and extremely easy to make!!! All you have to do is make a box cake of any flavor you choose and the frosting can be just plain white like the one I made or add blue food coloring [if you use it]. I wanted to take the cake out from the glass dish, but was scared it would turn into a crumpled mess so opted for leaving it in... he, he! To draw my beach ball design, I used a toothpick and then filled each section with one color of M&M's until each section was all filled. It didn't look summer-y enough to me, so I added blue sprinkle around the ball. You could either leave it as is or outline it with chocolate cookie icing or black decorating gel.
The outcome? A frugal cake that is sure to be enjoyed by kids!

Looks easy enough to do! I am not creative enough for things like this... HA!
I saw a summer beach ball treat made with fruit and thought how expensive it would be. This is an inexpensive alternative that looks great and I'm sure the kids will adore. The blue sprinkles were a nice touch of water, super creative.
Thanks :) I love that Beach Ball Platter you mentioned- it's beautiful!
How fun! Thank you for sharing this at Saturday Show and Tell. I can't wait to see what you have for this week! I look forward to seeing you there.
