My son made this Paper Bag Peeking Groundhog Craft in his preschool class. The teacher had the kids cut a groundhog from brown construction paper. They glued n google eyes and teeth, drew on a nose and mouth, and then glued it to a craft stick. They also painted the the top of a miniature paper bag. I'm thinking the teacher had a few slits cut so that it could be bent over first before painting it. The kids cut slits creating grass. At the very bottom, they cut a small slit to poke the craft stick through. Put the groundhog inside the bag through the slit. Now he's ready to play peek-a-boo!!!
Each kid in his class predicted whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow. My little guy predicted no. She made a chart with all the kids predictions and placed them on a bulletin board to compare with all the other preschool classes.

Thanks Maggy!
Oh my goodness, this is ADORABLE!! We didn't do anything this year for Groundhog Day. I am excitedly saving this to make next year with my little girl.
Thanks Rachel! Your Groundhog Craft from last year was so cute. We did a paper plate one too that year but I remember thinking yours was way cuter ... Lol!
